From the Managing Director’s Desk

With much needed rain having recently fallen across the region and indeed Queensland, Ag-Grow QMIX is set to meet its reputation as the largest spending field day on the circuit and deliver a smorgasbord of new services and products for consumers to consider.

Ideally located in Central Queensland, Ag-Grow QMIX is readily accessible to a massive variety of agricultural, mining and related industries. Each year we are committed to identifying what needs these industries have and ensuring we address them. The event's continual growth is testament to this commitment and has seen Ag-Grow become progressively known not just as a shopping/research trip but also a social event with people catching up for an annual get together made difficult by the separation of large distances.

Some areas of the event which have experienced growth worth noting is the cattle section with the Superior Beef Bull Sale having extended in 2007 to a two day sale to accommodate an increase in nominations. Cattle exhibits have also increased and visitors to the 2007 event enjoyed the comforts of a new Store Cattle Complex, Working Dog Arena and 10 bay cattle wash facility.

Another area of growth is the Queensland Mining and Industrial Expo, or QMIX section, which made a very successful debut in 2006 with particular credit to the Careers in Mining pavilion. We introduced QMIX to give the Mining Community a running start at establishing a quality exhibition. The growth this section has experienced since its introduction gives credibility to the need for such an event.

I would like to thank all our exhibitors and sponsors. Their support of Ag-Grow QMIX and confidence in the region is to be commended as it has been unwavering in previous years. I sincerely hope you enjoy the event and have no hesitation in saying that you haven’t seen it all until you’ve seen Ag-Grow QMIX!
