Rural Industry Training and Extension (RITE) is the lead provider offering Agricultural Traineeships in the Rural Industry. RITE offers both School Based and Full Time Traineeships in Agriculture (Specialising in Beef Production) Certificate II and III.

Certificate IV in Agriculture Beef Cattle Production is also available for those employers and employees who would be interested in obtaining formal qualifications for the skills and knowledge they have acquired over the years. This certificate is available through the Recognised of Prior Learning Process and the assessing can be done on the property if required.
The number of Trainee’s that currently use the RITE program has grown tremendously over the last few years to an all time high. RITE currently services all areas throughout Queensland, Northern Territory and parts of South Australia with their Traineeship program.

The RITE team have used a very diverse Marketing Strategy over the last five years to capture the attention of prospective clientele. The Marketing strategy included the use of DVD’s at Field Days and Career Days, distribution of RITE information packs containing DVD’s into all secondary schools in Queensland, advertising on TV, Print Media and Industry Support along with the RITE Website. One of the most important Marketing tools that RITE uses is the very experienced RITE PR personnel that constantly travel the roads attending Field days, Careers days, Careers Expo’s and liaising with prospective parents, trainee’s and new schools, interviews and signups.

The standard of training and assessment RITE offers along with the continued back up support to Trainee’s, Parents, Schools etc is meeting the expectations of not only the Host Employer but the rural industry as a whole.

RITE offers these innovative training programs, which allows employers to assist with the training of their current trainees to develop vital beef industry skills. Like apprenticeships, the traineeship system offers security of employment and the training is also included while earning an income.

The skills obtained throughout the traineeship allow for those completing it to move into a number of other industries or progress to management roles within the agricultural industry.
The opportunities for graduates are endless, and your career can branch into directions such as Vet Nursing, Station Manager, Research and Sciences, Government Departments, Consultancy, Stock and Station Agents and Peak Bodies such as Ag Force, Mining Industry and various other industries.
